How does recruitment work at ACON?
Our recruitment process is designed to be fair, transparent, and welcoming. While timeframes may vary depending on the role, there are generally five key stages:
1. Application
Once you submit your application, you will receive an email confirming that we have received your documents.
2. Shortlisting
A selection panel, typically consisting of two to four suitably qualified staff members, reviews all applications. Candidates whose skills, experience, and qualifications best match the requirements of the role will be shortlisted for interview.
3. Interview
If you are shortlisted, the Hiring Manager will contact you to arrange an interview.
Interviews are generally conducted by a panel of ACON staff members who have reviewed your application and are keen to learn more about your experience, skills, and interest in the role. The interview typically involves a structured question-and-answer discussion focused on the selection criteria and responsibilities of the position.
We understand that interviews can be challenging, and we strive to make the process as welcoming and inclusive as possible. We encourage you to wear what makes you feel comfortable and to let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments to participate in the recruitment process.
The interview is also an opportunity for you to learn more about ACON and ask any questions you may have about the role or organisation.
4. Offer
The successful candidate will be selected based on their application, interview performance, and the outcome of any required pre-employment checks. These may include:
5. Acceptance and Onboarding
Once a start date has been agreed, the People & Culture team will send you a formal offer of employment, including your employment contract and any supporting documents.
After the required documents have been completed and returned, you will begin the onboarding process through our HR system, ELMO, to help prepare you for your first day at ACON.
We look forward to welcoming you to the team and supporting you throughout your journey with ACON.
How long does it take to hear back on my application?
If you submitted your application at acon.org.au you will receive immediate acknowledgement.
If you are successful in gaining an interview, the Recruiting Manager will contact you to arrange a suitable date and time for interview. If you are not selected for an interview, you will not receive any further notifications regarding your application for this role. We appreciate the time you took to respond to our advertisement, and for your interest in ACON, and encourage you to apply for future roles that are advertised that fit your skills and experience.
