Job Description
- We’re on the lookout for a motivated and community-driven individual to join our Trans Health Equity team to support the delivery of impactful, community-led programs.
- You’ll support the delivery of community activities, workshops and initiatives, engaging directly with trans and gender diverse communities.
- Full-time 70 hours per fortnight based in our Gadigal (Surry Hills) office.

You'll be a part of the Trans Health Equity team, which leads ACON’s work to improve the health and wellbeing of trans and gender diverse people in NSW through programs, partnerships, and evidence-informed initiatives.
Ok, so what’s the role?
The Community Health Promotion Officer – Trans Health Equity is essentially responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating community-led health promotion initiatives.
You will:
- Design, plan and deliver workshops, programs, events, and resources.
- Support initiatives such as Trans Vitality and TransHub.
- Build partnerships with community members, services and stakeholders to strengthen impact.
- Collect community feedback and support basic monitoring and reporting.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a strong understanding of trans and gender diverse communities.
- Has strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Has experience delivering community engagement or health promotion activities.
- Is organised, reliable and able to manage day to day tasks independently.
What else can we tell you?
- Salary: Starting from $84,192.91 (Gross Annual Salary PLUS Superannuation and Leave Loading).
- Location: ACON’s Gadigal (Surry Hills) office, with some flexible working options a possibility (away from the office).
- Hours: Full time (70 hours per fortnight) on a 1-year fixed term contract.
- Salary Packaging up to $35,000 gross up value (i.e., currently up to $15,900 Expenses + $2,650 Meals, tax free).
- Generous pro-rata leave entitlements – including up to an extra week of paid leave for full time employees to be taken during our Christmas and New Year’s shutdown period.
